Apple picking

Last weekend we went apple picking at an orchard near our house. We had so much fun! The weather was beautiful and we picked 34 (!) lbs of apples!!! So far we have made apple pancakes, apple crisp, apple sauce, apple and oat scones, and some sautéed cinnamon apples. Yum! If you have a favorite apple recipe, please feel free to share! We are always open to suggestions! I checked out the Pioneer Woman's website and found a couple of new recipes to try this week. I'll report back soon!

34 pounds... wow! I love my food dehydrator for apples. Dried apple slices are a great snack and if you dry them completely, they keep almost forever on the shelf without canning or freezing. You can also turn homemade applesauce in fruit leather. Enjoy you apples!
