We had a great time on "Graduation Extravaganza 2008." I know it has taken me a long time to get these pictures up! We had a great time, and it didn't really take us this long to get back into the swing of things. I spent Owen's naptime the last couple of weeks reading breastfeeding textbooks (and it was actually pretty interesting!) Well, here goes...
We made it into St. Louis by 2ish on Wednesday. After we arrived at Auntie Em's apartment and had some lunch, we decided to take Owen to the zoo. Em lives really close and it was free! Double score! We didn't even pay for parking or anything!
We spent a lot of time looking at the storks and the monkeys. The stork was so ugly! I don't think this monkey wanted us watching him... Em and I had way too watching the animals and their "interesting mannerisms." I think Owen had a fun time, but he was mostly along for the ride!
We stayed for a couple of hours and Owen had fun, even though he was tired from the long trip.
Thursday, we went to the Magic House, which is a really cool children's museum in St. Louis. It wasn't very crowded, so Owen could play as long as he wanted in each area. Here is Owen's face and hands imprinted on one of those little peg boards! Em and I thought the picture was pretty funny!
Owen loved the water room.
He liked playing with the little boats and of course splashing in the water.
His favorite was this slide. I think we played on it for half an hour. He could have played on these slides all day!
Here Owen is with Auntie Em playing with brightly colored shapes on a velcro wall. He loved pulling the shapes off of the wall and re-arranging them. I think his favorite part was the noise the velcro made.
They also had a nice little toddler area with a playground and a boat.

There really is a lot for families to do in St. Louis. The drive is about 5.5 hours from Chicago, which isn't too long. Driving across IL is pretty painful, though. We are happy Sam is going to college at SLU, too. We'll have to go back soon!
After we left the Magic House, we met up with my parents and Uncle Al at Em's apartment. Everyone was very excited to see us. It was the first time they had seen Owen walking in person!
