Happy Mother's Day, Daddy!
Though we were not all together this Father's Day (more on this in our next post,) I took a few pictures of the boys the weekend before to enclose in the Father's Day cards for our Dads and Grandpas. I even started working with Owen on saying Happy Father's Day in advance, but "Happy Mother's Day, Daddy" was the best we could get!
I also included some pics of Owen one morning after he woke up. He must be a morning person because he wakes up so refreshed, energized, and in such a good mood every morning (not always the case after his nap...) I guess maybe we all would if we slept 12+ hrs every night...
I know I'm kind of partial, but I think these are two of the best looking boys I know!

Oh, I wish we had a yard!
Well, we arrived home late Sunday night and here I am finally uploading the pictures on Friday... Oh, well. I had all suitcases unpacked and the laundry done by Monday afternoon, at least. We had lots of fun at Grammy and Grandpa's last week. The trip just went too fast. Unfortunately Owen and I also took Grammy a pretty miserable cold. I felt pretty miserable from Tuesday to Thursday and Owen had a horrible runny nose the whole trip, but seemed to feel just fine.
Friday night, we took Owen to the rehearsal and dinner that followed. It might have been a mistake, but it was a pretty low key evening and everyone acted happy to see him. The wedding was in a park, so Owen and I explored during the rehearsal. It was so great to see all of our friends!
The Groom's side of the "Fan Club"
It was a beautiful, warm day for an outdoor wedding.
Cutting the cake. Sarah, the bride, and her mom made 12 cakes (and they were delicious!)
Owen and his buddy Ignatius at the brunch on Sunday morning. The had a blast!
Sunday afternoon, Owen escaped the pack 'n play 4 times, so he ended up just napping with Dad. He was pretty pooped from all of the excitement. Did I mention Auntie Em and Jim were in town to work on some rehearsal dinner details, as well!!! So much excitement!

So much to do...
And so little time... When will life slow down??? I guess I hope it won't.... We have been busy, busy as usual. Trying to get the house ready to go on the market, Mike working on 2 papers, and Katie studying away for that darn lactation consultant test. Thank goodness we are going to Kansas City next week for a break (and a wedding!) It will be so nice to get out of our house and away from the endless list of "little projects" from our realtor.
I hope the beer was Mike's and not Owen's. I try not to ask too many questions about what goes on during the weekends while I am sleeping or at work...
Of course, a highlight of the party was finding the broom!
Memorial Day weekend was so much fun! I went to a fetal monitoring class on Wednesday and Thursday that week, so I only had to work for 8 hours on Friday night. What a wonderful work week! Of course, Owen randomly spiked a fever of almost 103 on Wednesday night after having a fun and active day with our neighbors. I think it was due to his bottom molar coming in, but I guess we'll never know. Mike stayed home on Thursday and the boys had a fun day of bonding. It was great to get up Saturday afternoon, knowing I was done working for the whole long weekend. Saturday evening, we went to Church and out to dinner. The weather was beautiful, so we ate outside at a resturant near the Metra so Owen could watch the train go by. He loved it!
Sunday morning, we got up and took the train to Em's neighborhood and went out to breakfast withe her, Jim, and a couple of her friends who were in town to visit. It was a fun time.
Of course, the highlight of the trip for Owen is riding the L into the city and back!
We finally found some chairs for the little table. Owen likes sitting there to eat his breakfast!
Miss Celeste, the teacher, told all of the kids to dance with their Mommy. Of course Owen runs straight to her. Ouch!!! Just kidding. We went to the music classes in the fall, and he was so not into it. It is fun to see him so excited! We'll take a summer break from EM, but depending on our life plans for the fall, I think we'll sign up for a fourth session!

Happy Mother's Day!
Happy Belated Mother's Day to all of the readers of the Walsh Family Blog who are moms! We had a very fun Mother's day. We spent it at Sesame Street Live :o) Owen loved it and it was a fun family activity for the day. After the show, we went to dinner and a yummy Italian place. Mike and Owen gave me a really nice box of bath things from Lush (my favorite!!!) and a cute headband from J Crew (I keep forgetting to wear it when I wear my hair down which happens about an average of 2 times/ month!) Here are some pictures and video of Sesame Street and Owen enjoying it...

I'm not sure if you can tell from the picture, but Baby Bear came out riding a on a train. This was a definite highlight for Owen!

Here he is singing and dancing to Itsy Bitsy Spider. Another Owen Walsh favorite!

ABCs
Here are a couple of the funniest videos we have of Owen singing the ABCs. He can actually sing it much more clearly than he does in these videos. I just thought these would be the most entertaining...

Easier with 2?
I don't know... I watched Owen's buddy Andrew a couple of weeks ago while his parents moved into a new apartment one block over. It was a yucky, rainy day and I was a little nervous about what I would do to occupy 2 2 year-olds inside, all day. They had a blast and it was great!

Curled up on the couch with Lola, enjoying a little Sesame Street

Would you believe they sat up at the dining room table for over an hour doing art projects?! On a side note, "ColorWonder" fingerpaint might be the greatest invention ever!!! So much fun!

By lunchtime, they got a little silly :o)

Here they are in the "tent" we made under the kitchen table. This is one of Owen's new favorite games. The boys played very well together and really kept each other busy. I was able to do some cleaning and laundry and I even changed the sheets. I think we might have to start doing this on a regular basis...
